In order to boost its production capacity and expand its range of services, Rostan Suisse SA has recently invested in a HAAS VF-4SS vertical CNC machining centre, fitted with an HRT210 4th-axis rotary table. This investment enables the company to simultaneously improve its productivity, precision and flexibility when machining high-value-added technical components.
This state-of-the-art machine features a 22.4 kW (30 HP) direct-drive spindle capable of speeds of up to 12,000 rpm, ensuring high cutting speeds whilst maintaining excellent stability and high precision. Its working strokes of 1,270 × 508 × 635 mm enable the production of workpieces of various dimensions across a wide range of industrial sectors.
The integration of the 4th HRT210 axis paves the way for the machining of complex parts on multiple faces in a single set-up, reducing set-up times, rework and the risk of repositioning errors. This technology improves the geometric quality of parts whilst increasing overall productivity.
The centre is equipped with a 30+1-tool magazine with quick-change capability, a high-pressure coolant supply through the spindle (21 bar), a programmable coolant nozzle, an automatic chip conveyor, and a comprehensive cutting fluid management system comprising filtration, automatic refilling and oil recovery. This equipment ensures reliable operation, extended tool life and consistent machining quality.
The machine also incorporates a range of advanced features such as Renishaw wireless probing, rigid tapping, HaasConnect monitoring, Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity, and HaasDrop, as well as a new-generation touchscreen CNC that simplifies programming, production monitoring and preventive maintenance.
Thanks to this investment, Rostan Suisse SA is now able to carry out more complex machining operations with greater precision, shorter lead times and improved competitiveness. In particular, this new capability strengthens the company’s position in demanding markets such as precision engineering, aerospace, medical technology, high-performance tooling and industrial equipment.
